Jacquin Davidson, Executive Director
Jacquin Davidson is the Executive Director at BizStarts Milwaukee. She leads the staff and operations of the organization. Jacquin meets with all entrepreneurs coming to BizStarts and leads BizStarts fundraising efforts with sponsors, foundations and individuals.
Jacquin began her professional career as a teacher in Green Bay before moving to California for 35 years, where she started at J. Walter Thompson Advertising Agency. She launched a 20-year business in the Entertainment Industry serving commercial production and international print media, growing her business to the top tier of companies in Southern California. After exiting that business, she was a successful Vice President & Private Banking Officer for several California banks. Jacquin launched a second business, Davidson Associates, consulting with nonprofit organizations and small businesses on board development, strategic planning, staff development, training and capital campaigns. She and her associates were also Employee Relations Mediators.
Her community involvement includes: TEMPO, Milwaukee Women Inc., I&E Milwaukee, FaB Innovation Committee, President of the American Heart Association- CA, leadership roles with Susan G. Komen, United Way Women’s Philanthropy Fund, Girl Scouts, Make-A-Wish, and others. Jacquin’s honors include President of the United States service award (twice), Outstanding Women in Business Awards – 2007-2012, Komen President’s Award, Distinguished Woman Award and more.
Kathryn Spranger, Operations Manager
Kathryn Spranger joined the BizStarts team in March 2012 as the Administrative Coordinator. After handling social media and the website, coordinating companies for BizStarts staff, and heading up event planning and execution, she was promoted to Operations Manager in January 2014. Prior to joining BizStarts, Kathryn was employed at CATI, Inc. and the UW-Parkside Small Business Development Center (SBDC) building social media, website presence and administrative assistance for entrepreneurial classes and workshops in Racine and Kenosha. She received her MBA from UW-Parkside in 2013 and also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems and Business Administration and a Certification in Entrepreneurship, from UW-Parkside. She is active in Jaycees and can tell you far more about Zumba than just about anyone.
Noah Ellis, Business Development & Programming Coordinator
Noah Ellis joined the BizStarts team in January of 2015 as the Development and Program Coordinator. After graduating from Ripon College in 2006, he spent a year as an AmeriCorps Volunteer in California, and time writing grants and developing the Connecting People with Nature program with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. After, he spent time in sales in various capacities.
As a BizStarts employee, Noah will assist in writing grants, as well as develop educational programs for the entrepreneurs that BizStarts work with.
Kayla Raguse, Executive Assistant
Kayla Raguse joined the BizStarts team in December 2014. She comes to us with a working knowledge of social media and event coordinating. Kayla is a 2014 Marquette University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising and Corporate Communication. She worked as a Meetings & Education Programs Intern at the Association of Equipment Manufacturers where she assisted with various administrative duties and furthermore coordinated tradeshow and seminar presenter logistics. Kayla also served as a liaison to speakers and other guests. As a member of the BizStarts team, Kayla aids in coordinating meetings, assists with marketing materials, and monitors and manages our social media. She is a lover of country music and all things Wisconsin, particularly if it involves the colors Green and Gold.
